The journey of an Amsterdam based jewellery designer

meet lisa

We’re seeking for likeminded spirits who take inspiration from urban details and who are looking forward to making their mark within Amsterdam. Please join the journey of Lisa, founder, designer and creator of Lisa Maret, an Amsterdam based jewellery brand.

School girl

When did you start designing jewellery?

I started designing jewellery during my studies Fashion & Design at the Amsterdam Fashion institute.

It’s not what you think

What do you want to share with your customers?

What I like about jewellery, is that it becomes more than a clothing piece. You cherish it, it contributes to creating a memory and it becomes more precious over time. People become attached to it.

Sharing

Is Amsterdam a great inspiration for jewellery?

It’s a very inspiring city to work from. Same as for the co-creative studio I work from, it is a great example of creatives coming together and sharing their talent, with multiple disciplines in all facets of the art world.

Let it melt

What do you appreciate most about living and designing in Amsterdam?

Amsterdam is that place that values authenticity, it’s a melting pot of different people, and I love that I can design jewellery for a whole variety of different women.

Commute

What are your favourite hang-outs and areas?

I live in the Pijp and work in the East. I love going to the Javastraat, visiting the Turkish Bakery for lunch and having drinks at Bar Basquiat with friends or clients.

Happy life

So you are in a good place we would say?

Absolutely, every day I wake up thinking: “Yes, this is what I want to do!”
Not just me being happy that I found my calling, but also being able to share it with others, making them happy through the jewellery I design.

Thank you Lisa for giving us a tour around your studio and Amsterdam Oost. We loved the vegetarian Turkish pizza, nom nom nom.
